NEW DELHI: Some of India’s most executed boxers, including the game’s countrywide observer Akhil Kumar and the previous Asian champion M Suranjoy Singh, are still to get their pensions due when you consider that 2017; however, the sports activities ministry says their wait will stop this month as the needful funds had been procured.

Whenever we’ve got approached the ministry with a query in this, we have been informed that the ones entitled could be duly paid their arrears too, so there may be nothing to worry about,” a Boxing Federation of India reliable said. As in line with the authorities, a pension scheme for meritorious sportspersons, the medallists on the Olympics and Paralympics are entitled to Rs 20,000 in line with the month.

Gold-winners on the World Cup or World Championships, held every four years, are to be paid Rs 16,000 simultaneously as gold medals won inside the Commonwealth and Asian Games make an athlete eligible for Rs 14,000 line with the month. To observe for the pension, athletes should be above 30 years of age and retire from energetic participation.
The pension bills are made via the Life Insurance Corporation of India. The Ministry purchases annuities for individual pensioners by making the one-time lump-sum price to LIC.
