Alyssa Valdez may be joining the Philippine ladies’ national volleyball squad for the eighth time, as the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. Announced the pool for the 2019 SEA Games, which will be held inside the United States this November.
Crew captain Aby Maraño, veterans Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Mika Reyes, sisters Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago, Majoy Baron, Denden Lazaro, Dawn Macandili, Jia Morado, Ces Molina, Mylene Paat, and MJ Phillips will join Valdez.
Also within the pool are first-timers Kath Arado, Tots Carlos, Angel Cayuga, Ced Domingo, Jema Galanza, Eya Laure, Jerrili Malabanan, Kalei Mau, and Alohi Robins-Hardy.
From the 22 contributors to the training pool, 15 will be selected to don the kingdom’s tricolors.
Shaq Delos Santos will call the pictures and will be supported by Brian Esquibel and Kung Fu Reyes.
The ladies would love to pose a venture to 11-time defending champions Thailand, hoping to improve at the fourth-vicinity end in the 2017 Kuala Lumpur games.
The Philippines had closely received the gold at the 1993 version in Singapore, where they overcame the Thais.
Meanwhile, in the men’s squad, captain Johnvic de Guzman will head the 20-man pool and may join Marck Espejo, Ranran Adbilla, Mark Alfafara, Bryan Bagunas, Kim Dayandante, Joven de la Vega, and Rex Intal.
Fauzi Ismail, Jack Kalingking, Jessie Lopez, Jeffrey Malabanan, Kim Malabunga, Rikko Marmeto, Ricky Marcos, Ish Polvorosa, Francis Saura, Jayvee Sumagaysay, Peter Torres, and Joshua Amanda are also joining the group.
Dante Alinsunurin might mentor the squad, and Ariel Dela Cruz and Sherwin Meneses can help.
They are seeking to enhance returned-to-back 6th-place finishes inside the 2015 and 17 variants.
Volleyball events will commence on Nov. 28 at a venue that has yet to be introduced.
