The Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee is calling for a 12,000-strong volunteer group of workers to assist in running the web hosting of the biennial meet in November.
PHISGOC leader and running officer Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara stated that the SEA Games volunteer software is open to all involved individuals 18 years of age and above.
The volunteers might be mobilized in different venues of the Games in Metro Manila, Subic, Bulacan, Tarlac, La Union, Tagaytay, Batangas, and other areas to be able to host the fifty-six sports and 529 occasions of the thirtieth edition of the local sports spectacle on the way to begin on November 30.
“This is part of the whole image of organizing and hosting the Games. We have focused 12,000 volunteers on catering to Clark, Subic, Metro Manila, and other regions in Southern Luzon.,” said Suzara Friday for the duration of the launch of this system on the Lakeshore Tent in Taguig. “Maybe we can overpass our goal. Maybe to thirteen,000 to fifteen,000 relying on our wishes.”
PHISGOC chairman Allan Peter Cayetano and Senator Pia Cayetano spearheaded the program’s launch along with PHI sports officers, including chief of assignment Monsour del Rosario, countrywide athletes led by volleyball big-name Alyssa Valdez, three-time SEA Games gold medalist Kiefer Ravena, and movie star volunteers.
Suzara added that the bulk of PHISGOC’s 12,000-volunteer goal would come from schools (college students and instructors), the National Youth Commission’s dedication to enlisting out-of-school youths, and the neighborhood authorities.
“Even foreign volunteers are sending us emails. We want to find a way to accept them. Maybe around 50 or 100,” Suzara said.
Suzara said that around P100 million to P150 million might be allotted to the program from the P5 billion finances of the national government, which is yet to be signed with President Rodrigo’s aid Duterte side of the 2019 countrywide finances.
He introduced the idea that volunteers could be given uniforms, transportation, allowance, and meals for an eight-hour shift. Game venues may also have eating and resting areas for the volunteer personnel.
The volunteers in venues at Manila, Clark, Subic, Tarlac, La Union, Tagaytay, and Batangas will be carried out from April to July. The online registration will open on May 15, while the volunteers’ education can be held from August to October.
