Phillips recently completed his eighth season as the head teacher at Salt Lake Community College. During his tenure with the Bruins, he compiled a 205-58 (.779) standard record and an 82-32 mark in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

Phillips led his group to a National Junior College Athletic Association countrywide title in 2016 as the No. Thirteen seed. His 2015-sixteen team compiled a 31-eight overall file and completed the season with nine straight wins to claim the countrywide championship. He was named the NJCAA Coach of the Year for his accomplishments at some stage in the 2015-16 season. Former Wolverine Conner Toolson became named NJCAA Tournament MVP under Phillips’ guidance in 2016.

“I am thrilled to be joining instruct Madsen,” stated Phillips. “It is an exciting time here at UVU. A great basis has been constructed within the basketball program. I look ahead to being a part of the Wolverine circle of relatives and shifting the program to even greater heights.”

During his tenure at SLCC, Phillips led his crew to four NJCAA Tournament appearances, four Region 18 Tournament championships, three SWAC regular-season titles, and one NJCAA event championship. He earned SWAC Coach of the Year honors in 2013, 2015, and 2018 and the Region 18 Co-Coach of the Year award in 2018.

Before becoming a head coach for the Bruins, Phillips served three seasons as an assistant coach at SLCC under mythical head educator Norm Parrish. As an associate train with SLCC, he helped the Bruins win their first-ever countrywide identity in 2009. He also spent eight seasons as an associate educator at Westminster College in Salt Lake, beginning in 2000. At Westminster, he helped lead the Griffins to 8 20-plus win seasons, six conference titles, and 6 NAIA National Tournament berths.

Phillips performed basketball at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. After his commencement from Snow, Phillips endured his gambling profession at Lewis-Clark State College from 1997-99. He acquired his bachelor’s degree in education and kinesiology from Lewis-Clark State and later earned a grasp of education management from the University of Utah.

Bobbi and his wife are each initially from Boise, Idaho, and have one daughter, Kinzi.
