The Khmer Swimming Federation has introduced a full-day swimming competition set for Thursday, which will be hosted at the ultra-modern Indoor Stadium and Aquatics Centre in the Morodok Techo National Sports Complex. Hem Kiri, secretary preferred of the Khmer Swimming Federation, stated that the competition was organized through the Khmer Federation of Swimming with the assistance of Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng. “For this contest, we divided the athletes into four corporations [according to age and gender] We additionally have national team athletes as well as people with disabilities who’re set to compete. Each player can compete in two disciplines,” said Mr. Kiri.

SwimmingThe swimming federation is accelerating its education. The swimming pool at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh is currently undergoing a $2 million protection to enhance training facilities before Manila and meet worldwide standards ahead of the 2023 SEA Games. The Olympic Stadium swimming pool has been in use for over 50 years with little maintenance.

The maintenance was started last year with the aid of Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd, and is part of the overhaul of Cambodia’s sporting venues beforehand of the 2023 SEA Games as a way to be hosted in Phnom Penh. It is about to be completed in the next month.

Phnom Penh will host the 43rd Sea Age Group Swimming Championships in June; even in the remaining month, the federation said it’s hoping to send its athletes for long-term training abroad in advance of the 2019 Manila SEA Games.
