A marine scientist has warned that Kingston Harbour sees high tiers of contamination that would pose serious fitness risks for those who visit famous spots alongside the coastline for recreational swimming and fishing. “If there isn’t an algal bloom in it … And so the water is a strange color or anything like that, you could likely venture into it [and] you perhaps get a touch itching or something, but if there may be sewage contamination in the water and there’s a coliform microorganism, you may get severely unwell,” the marine scientist warned.
